Glendale sees all sorts of criminal cases, from arrests for drugs, DUI, domestic violence, up to gang activity and violent felonies. In Glendale DUI cases, we can help you assert the defenses available (Including: Mouth Alcohol, Rising BAC, How Accurate are Breathalyzers?, Did Police Follow Proper Testing Procedure, Do Field Sobriety Tests Prove Anything,Alcohol and Drugs are NOT the Only Causes of Bad Driving). After making a purchase at one store, Amy has a shopping bag from that store and enters another store. In the second store, Amy's daughter grabs an item and starts playing with it. While Amy is looking at other items, her daughter puts an item in the shopping bag. Amy purchases a few items and proceeds out the door. At the door, the security alarm alerts the store's loss prevention officers that an item is on its way out the door with a security sensor still active. The store's loss prevention officer looks inside the bag and sees an unpaid for small electronic device. Due to the value of the item, the loss prevention officers do not believe Amy, when she says that she does not know how the item got into the bag. With no prior criminal history, and never intending to take any item out of the store without paying, Amy is still arrested for shoplifting. She is cited, released and asked to sign a paper acknowledging that she will not return to the store. The ticket she is issued has a court date on it, and says that she must appear in court in about two months to answer to misdemeanor theft charges. Amy hires a Glendale Criminal Defense Attorney to help with her case. After a careful interview with Amy, the lawyer obtains copies of the stores surveillance tapes and follows Amy for the entire time she is in the store. Although the video does not show Amy's daughter place an item into the bag, it does show Amy's daughter taking an item off of a low shelf in the electronics department. Amy's criminal defense lawyer gets in contact with the prosecutor and explains the misunderstanding. The defense attorney and the prosecutor set up a meeting to view the footage together, and the prosecutor agrees not to file charges at all. Not only does Amy no longer have a criminal charge hanging over her head, but getting the prosecuting agency not to file is even better than a dismissal once charges have been filed.
